Bicton & Oxon WI Crafternoon – 7th March 2026
We had a fantastic, chilled Saturday afternoon in March, when 21 members took part and we spent time on each of five crafts.
Silk card painting with Ann was so relaxing! We had a choice of Easter flower cards, and the range of paint colours made totally different cards.

Tanya helped us decorate clay plaques for Easter – lots of Easter bunnies and eggs! One plaque was ready for us to decorate, and we had another to cut from clay, press in the decoration and paint when it was dry at home.

On to Sara’s cupcake decorating – who knew we could all make a rabbit dive into a carrot patch on top of a cupcake, or a sheep with marshmallows for wool?!

Great fun – but our instructor needed a lot of patience!
Gilli taught us to make decoupage Easter vases – so simple to do with a jar, a printed napkin, lots of glue and a hairdryer…

Sue showed us the art of pyrography– much concentration was needed to burn designs into wooden spoons!

Our instructors – shown below and all BOWI members – were so patient and put such a lot of work into the day. And of course there was cake along with tea and coffee for mid-afternoon refreshments!

We all had plenty to take home at the end of a wonderful day!
